Looks just like a face lift

think it looks a bit like a hatchback eos , or possibly a bigger polo

No problem with me! Also very sceptical that the Mk6 will actually look like that as the pics are old  :undecided:

A merger would make sense as no one seems to buy polos these days

I've always looked at Polos as either the poor brother of the Golf or a women's car.... maybe the first puts both sexes off and the second puts men off which translates into lower sales??  Just a guess...

As for the Mk6 Golf GTI, I don't think I will be buying another Golf after the Mk5 - I will keep my little Golf collection Mk1 GTI Campaign only 63k miles, will be looking for an exceptional Mk2 Golf 16v <40k miles next year and my Mk5 Edition 30 which will be pampered, have some strategic panels replaced with carbon  , a Milltek exhaust, tuned and driven sparingly and VERY VERY hard  .

I think I will look at other vehicles like the Audi RS4 - 2nd hand though because I'm not that rich - or even a Porsche (straying away from familiar territory - I have owned 14 cars all VW Golfs except a Nissan Micra    and a Subaru Impreza STI   ....

But I'ill always have my Golfs because I just love 'em

HOWEVER.... if VW pull out something like the R-GTI....
But given their history, that will be very doubtful
