hi there, if i took out air con unit  would the car get more bhp? ps i come from scotland no need for air con anyway, cheers. :shocked:

very much doubt it!! im sure manufacturers quote power figures with air con in place / running

if you bin it you will hit the resale value of your car.........

Good point Rhyso made there!

Will only effect performance when switched on.

All the a/c gubbins only weighs 25 kg (ish), IIRC, so hardly worth ripping it out for weight saving, IMO.

What they said....just dont turn it on (my last car lost 12bhp on the rollers when the air con was on!!!!)
