1.8 is 2seconds faster than the 2.0 iirc.

Not that much quicker but it is the better choice.

wow when you look at the figures for a GTI it's rather pathetic...

The 1.8t can just about cut it in a straigth line  but sadly the brakes/handling/drivers appeal dont'.It's a great day to day comfortable/brisk car but that's about it.
