really depends what state the car is in, it could have 150'000 miles on the clock and need a lot of work doing or it could have done 10'000 miles, been kept in a garage and only used on sunny days, bit more info wouldnt go a miss!  :smiley: but on the whole mot and tax is just a bonus in buying a car IMO

its done 98, full service, cambelt and water pump done recently too and recently serviced

If you really want 12 months then maybe go halves on a new mot with the owner? If it passes maybe pay a little more, if it fails then renegotiate?

5 months is plenty MOT how much mileage has it done since the last MOT?

Can't really do this as it has 5 months remaining - the earliest you can do an MOT is 2 weeks before its due date IIRC...
