Idle High
« on: 30 January 2017, 13:58 »
2017 has not been a great year so far for Barney (PB engine code GTi)

Latest on the list is a high idle.

So, after completing sub frame change I have an issue where the car now idles for the first 5-10 seconds at just under 1k rpm (good), but then gradually rises to 2k and stays there till i have driven for 10 minutes or so and then it is back to 1.7k.

Only thing that I may have done is knocked a cable perhaps(?) as nothing else has changed.  However, thinking about it I did attach one of the vac pipe back into the airbox (filter housing) so it loops out and back in and now I am not convinced this is right.

Can someone post a pic of the vac pipes around their airbox?

Is there a check list to go through to check before I start trying to adjust the idle control?

Vac lines seems to be the place to go. Youll have one maybe nkt connected sucking air...
Check that the inlet tube from airbox to tb hasnt had any thing come off or rubber rip creatin more air going in than the maf knows about
