Title: Clubsport Spoiler on a MK 7.5 GTI ???
Post by: Jeff Wood on 23 May 2018, 12:31
Hey guys..

Has anyone on here actually gone to the trouble (and expense) of fitting a clubsport rear spoiler?

Now I know that you have to buy a different tailgate from a non gti/gtd/r Golf, ie it has to be a tailgate with the integral metal roof spoiler.

So it's a case of waiting for a second hand one in the right colour to come along.

And then in my case the wiring has to be stripped out and the indicators swopped over.

Add to that, the spoiler itself costs £1100.

So it might seem like a bonkers idea...but personally I think the cs rear spoiler is awesome and really changes the look of the car.

Any thoughts ???

As far as I know the Clubsport uses a different boot to the GTi and R, I think they use the standard boot so it won’t just “bolt” on as such.

It would look cool though

He mentioned that in his post

IMO I wouldn’t do it because, not only does it cost a fortune, it will devalue the car come selling time. Have you had a look a the Maxton or Oettinger stick on spoilers?

Not sure about a spoiler too be honest. I guess it depends on the colour scheme, if it's black on black then it might not stand out too much.
