Acc sensor trim missing common?

The owner of the car gave me some photos of when they chose the car in the showroom nearly 5 years ago.

The car has been pdi’d and serviced by Vw 3 times.

Look closely and you can see the trim missing from when it was brand new.

Could they not give you any info about the oil leak?

It seems the cars just been a second family car.
