Almost there..

Ordered alot of new gaskets bolts clips and pipes from the stealers and fitted to engine.

Front bumper almost there ready for last few sands and filler and then primer and more sands. Hope people can see my idea of one solid bumper with what would be the bottom section looking like a solid bar where it meets the splitter, it was all plastic welded together back and front and end to end.... took a long time but no chance of movement. Medium size rectangle license plate will sit on left of intercooler at bottom of bumper.

(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/E1FFC609-2C52-43F0-AE19-9EF7F38454AE-40734-00003860EFFAC3BA_zpsbf311eff.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/E1FFC609-2C52-43F0-AE19-9EF7F38454AE-40734-00003860EFFAC3BA_zpsbf311eff.jpg.html)

Bumper trial fitted over the intercooler and all snug cut and sanded (no bodge jobs round here!)

(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/A46B2EF3-672C-4630-978A-52989BEC2384-40734-00003860EF281457_zpsa72e269e.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/A46B2EF3-672C-4630-978A-52989BEC2384-40734-00003860EF281457_zpsa72e269e.jpg.html)

(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/2D4E673A-9706-410A-8408-173ADBBE4A4F-40734-00003860EDB727FE_zpsace615c2.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/2D4E673A-9706-410A-8408-173ADBBE4A4F-40734-00003860EDB727FE_zpsace615c2.jpg.html)

Obviously sitting very high as engine still out..

New actuator top ordered then fitted looking nice.
(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/B53A92FC-3D20-4971-B33D-AD8372E3005B-40734-00003860F6A4177C_zps39e98aba.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/B53A92FC-3D20-4971-B33D-AD8372E3005B-40734-00003860F6A4177C_zps39e98aba.jpg.html)

Also going to fit mesh to the front bumper and centred infront of the intercooler going to put a "revo" logo so made a stencil and trial on some card (loved it ha)

(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/731BE08F-1571-4565-96BD-30109D704956-40734-00003860F0DD2CA0_zpsc228f140.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/731BE08F-1571-4565-96BD-30109D704956-40734-00003860F0DD2CA0_zpsc228f140.jpg.html)

Also got a nice ford gearstick with the reverse in the correct place and who doesnt like a ford gearstick lol

(http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j462/Zeroooooooooo/DC73C9E8-5CD2-40E0-970A-0E0CA5FE1E86-40734-00003860F8B823AA_zps2e5d1aac.jpg) (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Zeroooooooooo/media/DC73C9E8-5CD2-40E0-970A-0E0CA5FE1E86-40734-00003860F8B823AA_zps2e5d1aac.jpg.html)

Lots of other things happening but no pics so wont mention, MASSSIVE thanks to jamie at APW in blair athol for the work and help so far and will post pics and let folk know what else has been done when finished hopefully end of this week.

Haven't written the code but its a black diamond stage 2 clutch for the O2M box and it fits so I would go for that one and with it being hydraulic it won't be heavy on the foot!

I will try again to get the number!

If you can wait then I will you exactly how it is in very soon ha

No no it's going the same blue as I really really like the colour, I always liked the mk4 golf and this is my way of getting as close to a brand new one as possible ... By making one!

Don't want it to stand out but I want other golf owners or people who know what's what to see the effort put into the car.

I seen a gun metal colour but decided against it, bought the car loving the colour and I used to like a mk4 back in the day when they first came out and it was indigo blue.

What do people think about a black roof i was 25% thinking about it but don't think I want my car to look to out there just nice smooth and clean. Seen a lot of cars around with black bonnets and roofs and it out me off as well.

Custom front bumper is almost ready for paint as is the rear bumper and the skirts are just waiting to coat the same time as the bumpers mirrors etc

Can't wait to go out with this car, a lot of time and effort and pennies into the whole car from the engine overhaul replacing gaskets and pipes and clips all the way to the engine tuning using the ko4-001 and custom exhaust manifold and exhaust.

Car currently sits 254bhp.

This mk4 is going to be in better condition than some mk6's out there....

Thanks to folk on this site for helping with parts etc

Hoping next pics will be finished car as I'm going to Portugal for next week and car should be finished within the week I recon.

And alooooot of thanks to Jamie at Apw in Blair Athol who is a genius and a wizard! Ha

So turbo blew up on dyno yesterday and went down to crail today just for some show and shiny-news ha

I have a gt28rs and all running gear but would it be able to get decent power on my auq block or should I take my friends "forged" AUM block and will my gearbox (O2M) go onto that AUM block?

Currently scoping out forums and looking on google to find out exactly what is best to do from here.

I would be looking for 350ish with my gt28rs which makes me think the AUQ would be useless....

The AUQ engine is fine and the turbo is a K04-001 and it was a good runner with around 250bhp before trying to push it more and wasting the oil seals if anyone is interested PM me ha

Note to self... I hate gt28 turbos there too big and I hate them...

Althoughhhhhh look how small they make a ko4 look  :nerd:

So the car is running the GT28RS.

Full setup but car is struggling at top boost stuttering I'm wondering if its because I downgraded to a 3bar fpr instead of my 4bar one but is it starving the turbo at top boost?

Also mite be thinking its the coil packs and ideas??

Is this going to be custom mapped?
I was goin to say 300 is pretty low for a gt28rs!.....but the. Noticed you said your being date till you uprate the internals which I guess is sensible

Look forward to future update

P.s you need to stop calling the 001 a k04

Seems to spend all it's time on these ramps, checked all around car to see if anything fitted last year had moved or needed attention.

Post by: Scott-R on 27 April 2014, 20:48
Seriously starting to worry about this summer and thinking about what power to settle at with the standard AUQ internals .... 300 was my bench mark and then going to get the forged bottom end in next winter, but with 350+ as an option with the new turbo should I try it out?

Anyone willing to donate some second hand forged rods for the cause

I have a full kit to do the bottom end but wasn't wanting too much this time round, main worry is that with the lack of logged trials with the big turbos it's hard to choose a "safe" power. This is mainly due to all the bottom end parts being inconsistent and not straining the same with some users failing at low end power.

I will try to put some sort of answer together for this once all is up and running I have asked r-tech for there input and I have pm'd a few users.

Yes, I am 100% going for the full works this winter but just looking to get through this summer with good power, may take rods up and get them fitted if Jamie is up for  it.

As posted a while ago I have a spare bottom end with all the parts to upgrade most of the block but that's still sitting in me shed, More time and money and it will be ready for next winter to get it in the car along with some more parts purchased this summer.

300bhp should see it through summer on stock internals but I bet I regret saying that...  :lipsrsealed:

I know, just for this summer and then back in for winter.

About 1k gets me pistons fitted, I would settle at 280 just to get use of the car this year.

280 wouldn't be that slow and it lets me drive round as the other block is being put together.

It's not an easy decision to make.

1000 miles to let bottom end run in then back onto dyno see what power we can get up to.

Can't wait for the summer, recent dyno of 360+bhp looks good for next year once idle issues solved.

I have been searching for the turbo to manifold adapter for some time now and also the turbo to down pipe. Did you get these custom made or do you have any info on where I can get them from.
Cheers dan
