Forge Motorsport dump valve
« on: 02 July 2002, 16:24 »
Hi,

Has anybody fitted a Forge Motorsport dump valve to their mk4 20vt?

The 'whoosh' noise may sound good but are there any actual performance benefits?

A little late but only just found the site Turbos dont like atmos dump valve it messes up the ecu, I know because the jerk that owned my car before me fitted one a the difference after I put a Forge 007 on was unreal its a much smoother drive.

have yet to own a car with a turbo but many mates who have,

Basically apart from the nice "whoosh" noise all a dumpvalve does is releases the pressure, prolonging the life of your turbo and making it work less hard which presumably will give you a slight performance gain.

I'd have one if just for the sound, up 2 u!
