Any other 17 yr old GTI drivers?

I'm 18, and i've been driving my Mk2 1.6 Driver since i was 17. Paying £80 a month as a named driver 

I keep trying to get quotes for a 8v GTi and it's averaging around £2000 lol

When will i be old enough for a GTi?! 

When you want to cough up that much for insurance unfortunatly

I have been in a similar situation to giorgio. I paid £1460 for my anni for a year, but got quoted about £40 more for a twin turbo supra!  Thought they'd missed a '0' off the end!

It has to be said I am still surprised you got quoted that price on a GTi. With a years NCB, Quinn wouldnt insure me on any GTi (looked at a 306 GTi-6 & Anni).

My first car at 17 was a 1.1 Pug 106. This still set me back £1499 on my own policy with no NCB!

If thats the price you got though well done! Nice to hear someone has had something good come from an insurer for a change
