You might find that a lot of us on here started off with something less than a GTI. For example, a wee Polo, or a 1.4 Golf.

A GTI will be in a high insurance group, to give you an idea, my MK3 1.8 GL is insurance group 9 and im being quoted around 700 quid for next years insurance

just looked up some info. An 8v GTI (mk2) is insurance group 14, a 16v GTI is insurance group 15...thats why your getting daft quotes

try haggling with them! phone them up, let them tell you what their quote is, then tell them youve been quoted cheaper, say youve been quoted 100 less than their quote, chances are they'l try and beat that.

because its blatantly a fronted policy

as said - polo or a base spec small engine mkII/III for ya first year,

add on your MUM ( subject to a good driving record ) to YOUR policy brings the price right down

well ive been driving a pegeout 306, which i believe is insurance group 9, dont quote me on that though..and since april ive been driving a corsa...so i thought it would of dropped dwn quite a bit! but clearly not :-(

if i purchase the car, just put my mum as the main driver, then after a week or so, add me onto it...will the price increase by a lot???
