Was wondering if you could all help me out. Just had my first puncture in the new car after under 3000 miles (just my luck). Does anyone have any experience of how much VW will charge for and to fit new P Zeros? And whether it’s worth getting it done somewhere else?
Oh and from reading everyone’s raves about the Michelin Supersports. Potentially a better option?
If it cannot be repaired...
Golf Owners Manual -
New Tyres - page 281
- All 4 wheels must be fitted with tyres of the same type, size and the same tread pattern.
- Always replace tyres on an axle-by-axle basis at the very least.
I mention the above because it is recommended to replace tyres in pairs. This is because a new tyre should not be used beside a worn tyre as they will have different levels of grip. Also different makes and models of tyre will have different levels of grip.
There are people here who would replace both tyres. However, providing the other tyre on the same axle has only done 3000miles and is not noticeably worn - you could purchase another tyre of the same make
and model. Then fit them to the rear axle of the car.
Note: this advice is worth exactly what you paid for it. Follow it at your own risk.
