DSG Gear Ratio 6spd GTI vs 7spd GTI-PP?
« on: 17 October 2017, 11:25 »
In the facelift PP, it has a 7spd DSG, so how does that compare to the standard 6speed?

Is the 7th ratio simply a longer top gear/overdrive? Or are all of the ratios adjusted compared to the 6speed?

Numerous threads on here regarding this.... I don't think the hard data on gear ratios for a VW DSG box ever surfaced though.

Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

You're right, typically, when googling, I found a previous thread... but you're right, there is still no concrete proof.
Ideally a ratio chart or a video of speedo at 70mph in both cars would confirm.
