Hi, can anyone tell me if this standard of water beading is about "average" ? Versus the amazing results on this threadhttp://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=280225.50 (My detailing marquee....and a spot of spring detailing!)It was a very simple process of:1. Wash2. Clay3. Wash4. Air dry5. Apply Victoria Collectors Wax - as per instructions http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/victoria-wax/victoria-collectors-wax-3oz/prod_309.htmlIs this what I can expect unless I go for extra stages?

Could be the wax, or the application. Was it a single coat of wax? Are you sure it was buffed off properly as hard to see on a white car. You could try applying another coat to see if it gives improved result, or strip back to bare paint and add a base sealant such as Poorboys Ex-P (wax needs to go on top) which will give additional protection, shine and most likely improved beading. Alternatively you could add a Quick Detailer spray wax/sealant on top which will give temporary improvement, choose one compatible with a wax as some nano or polymer sealants won't bond well to wax and lifespan will be shortlived . Or once this wax has diminished, try an alternative wax or sealant.

Yes, the roof was a single coat, the bonnet (not shown) was twice, but similar results.I think it was buffed properly, certainly feeling very smooth and glassy by hand afterwards. I don't think I will try and quick fixes and go for another wax, but now I have a big tin of Victoria's....
Thanks, ordered sample pots of Diamond White (hard) and Bilt Hamber Finis Wax to carry out a comparison.

Let us know how you get on, be great to hear about the comparison. Are you going to half roof in one and half in other? Best to strip the Victoria wax off first (IPA/panel wipe) before applying the new stuff, or just wait until it's disminished.
