I've just finished washing the white Golf...in the dark, before it's visit to the dealers tomorrow. I just hope it looks OK in the morning. I did my usual, wash a panel, then wash it again just in case I missed a bit the first time.

The Auto Finesse Illusion wax is holding up well too.

Where's the moody nighttime shots.

Gave the green Golf it's first wash in over a year for it's MOT today. I was a virtually contactless wash as it had been sat in the garage collecting dust all year. Just 78 miles between MOTs, but it came up gleaming with it's wax still intact.

No pics because I couldn't be bothered, also you've all seen it before anyway.

^^ Nice purchase.

Thanks.

Currently (slowly) turning a hobby into a potential business. Went on the Slim's 3 day course in August which was fantastic and is the only course with a recognised qualification at the end.

Lots to learn and much practice needed though...

Good luck with your new business venture.  And good luck with the practising.

I know quite a few making the transition from detailing hobby to business. Many of them are scared to go down the rotary route though, so that’s brave of you and sensible imo.  If I were going to do it as a living that’s exactly the route I would take, to have both technical capabilities - DA and Rotary.  The course sounds good.  I’ve, in passing, looked at courses KDS Keltec run, maybe for the future when the day job is less full on.

Did you enjoy the course?

Yes the course was really good. Just 4 of us and run by a guy called Phil from Deville Detailing. As it's a small group you get plenty of hands time as well the learning element. As much as I have been a keen detailer for quite a few years, I'd never used a machine polisher of any sort. We used both DA and rotary and having used both, I felt the rotary is better suited if you are only going to purchase 1 machine as its has more capabilities. I think there is a lot of horror stories with rotaries but if you follow simple rules you should be fine. And the Flex came highly recommended as been the best to get.

This is a link to the course and whats covered - I didn't learn too much new on day 1 regarding washing but some great tips and insights regarding products etc. The other 2 days were great and you a small exam at the end to make sure you've understood everything.
