Okay, yet another 'which products' thread. I've done my best to include loads of information to get the right choices.

I've listed the products I currently use, but I'm looking to see what's available - also feel free to use mine as a template to show off what you use!

The car:
Mk2 Golf GTI, 17 years old, big bumpers, BBS RA alloys
Paint colour: Pearl Grey Metallic
Paint condition: Good, some light swirling and a couple of light scratches. Loads of stonechips on the front
Interior: Fabric

Current products: Autoglym Bodywork shampoo and conditioner, two buckets, Halfords sheepskin wash mitt

Drying

Current product: Halfords waffle drying towel (x2)

Claying
Budget: £25
Current product: Meguiars claying kit

Polishing

Current product: Autoglym SRP, Halfords peachskin microfirbe cloth (hand polishing, though I may get a machine polisher at Christmas  :smiley:)

Waxing

Current products: Meguiars liquid gold, Flash applicator pads

Sealing

Current products: Meguiars hot rims, GSF alloy wheel brush, Halfords peachskin Microfibre cloth

Nothing currently, though I do have some degreaser

Current product: Morrisons liquid scuff remover with foam applicator, microfibe cloth (I've yet to find anything better!)

Glass

Current product: Autoglym fast glass, kitchen roll/blue roll

Dashboard

Current product: Halfords interior spray (non-gloss), microfibre cloth

Interior Fabrics

Current product: Autoglym interior trim, microfibre cloth. I also have a wet/dry VAX, but I need the small wash tool

Supernatural Shampoo/CG Maxi Suds or CG wash and Gloss washed with a Wookie Mitt from Elite Car Care

Drying
Waffle Weave from Elite Car Care (seperate waffle for door jams and wheels)

Claying
Megs but will be moving to Bilt Hamber

Polishing
Poorboys polish/Clearkote Red Moose

Waxing
Collinite 476 and Pete's 53

Wheels
Megs Wheel Brightener with a Vikan brush. Waxed with Rimwax

Engine
Autosmart Tardis ot Megs Degreaser
Dressed with Megs All Season Dressing

Black Trim
Black Wow/Peanut butter/Mer bumper gel or Autoglym bumper gel

Glass
Megs Last Touch

Dash
Nothing. Seals are dressed with Zymol Vinyl

Interior Fabric
CG Stain Remover or damp sponge.

Definitely ditch the Meguiars clay kit & buy the Bilt Hamber soft clay which requires no lube, just water.

Nothing against the Meguiars it worked very well, used it prior to the Bilt Hamber just found the lube expensive.

I think the lesson so far is that I could be using a lot better products for similar money.

And don't skimp on the wax  :smiley:
