Title: Hole in pipe work top of engine block

What is the name of the pipe the sits on top right ov engine block just under engine cover.
Previous owner put gaff tape on it but I don't want the gaff tape drying out and bits flaking in the engine.
I haven't had the head the to get around uploading pics on this forum yet tbh Cbb :
 Please somone help
