To be honest, if you are sculpturing your own dashboard I would have to suggest it is a dark hardwood.  Something like Iroco or Sapele.  Finish it off with a Danish oil to bring out the grain and it would look absolutely stunning !   Also using Danish oil will seal the wood and make it protected against the elements.

Fantastic project and something I am very jealous of.  Good luck to you and your endeavours.  Keep the piccies rolling in and thanks for sharing with us all !

Paul :)

2 choices with the colour I reckon.
Firstly, super subtle maybe black or grey so that your average road user doesn't take too much notice. Although the rumbling engine may be a bit of a giveaway!
Second idea, paint it a really stupid colour like Simon's beast:
http://www.golfgti.co.uk/pageimages/pcmagshoot/pcmagshoot14.jpg
No one could miss you then!

Most importantly though, you need some GolfGTI.co.uk stickers in the windows  ;) and then get it in PerformanceVW :)

if it was me i'd keep it relatively standard looking, smoothed out a little, and obviously as low and wide as it can be. That'll make the Porsche driver next to you at the lights even more sick when he's eating your exhaust fumes. Does that qualify me for a blast at santa pod ?  ;) ;) ;)

Reckon we should get a gentlemans wager on the final BHP of this beast?

I reckon at least 350 BHP is easily realistic

All the best with it and cant wait to finally see it in the "metal"

Hows the 'Tolf' :) going? Really liking the idea, hope its going a lot easier than it looks.
He's my opinion on styling:
Subtle black colour, or maybe a subltle flip colour going with TVR's style of colour.
Carpet inside.
Have you had a look at the Porsche Mk1 done in the 80's i think??

Personaly i think you should make it really classy in and out a nice plush leather and carpet interior and a nice subtle expensive look on the outside something like a silver with a pearl laquer ontop. Have a look at some of the carrisma stuff they have done alot of renault 5 stuff and a TVR the interiors are mad. Top work by the way wish i had the time and i only have 2 kids. 8)

Nice to see the monster in the flesh, so to speak, certainly an awesome piece of creativity and vision.  :)There's no substitute for cubic inches and clothed in a classic piece of automotive design  8)
Classy motor deserves a classic paint colour I reckon like mile deep black.

Keep on keeping on ;)

Good to see your heart is still in the project. I'm looking forward to seeing some more pictures too. It's worth the drive down from Scotland to Newark again, just to see the car.
Have you had any more interest from magazines or clubs?
