Just wanted to know, how does this affect sound quality?! In regards to compared to the box it was in previously?

Would you advise using dynamat or some other sound proofing internally?!

Any vibration going on?

The sound is as good as it was in the original MDF box. In fact I would say it is slightly better. The entire boot was lined previously with dynamat

Started mine today - will need a LOT more than 4 boxes (but I think my f/glass stuff is in smaller packs - got it from CPC.co.uk). 4 boxes hasn't even covered the first layer.

But in all fairness, I'm going mad getting the coverage right.

The key to this entire process is to TAKE YOUR TIME.

Having a lot of fun doing it too

Will complete the first layer tomorrow hopefully.

(pics to follow in my own thread - probably on mk5golfgti.co.uk.....)

Fwiw, got mine installed and running today. Using a 12" kenwood sub. Happy with the results but may need some tweaking on the finish (due to lack of skill on my part!)

that said, I'm glad i've done it and would recommend this to anybody looking to improve their stereo.

Cut the hole for the speaker using the jigsaw and then offer up the speaker to the hole to test that it sits correctly.
