Well, that escalated quickly!!!

To start I needed a new car that was an auto, as I'm starting a new job and have to drive through Reading at 5 o'clock and my left leg can't cope with all that clutch action crawling through traffic.

So about 4 weeks ago I was all set to buy a Polo GTI+, dealer says 42 week wait. Not a chance I'm going waiting that long. So back to the drawing board, maybe a second hand Golf GTI DSG? But I wanted a new car, the new car seed had been planted, but didn't think I could afford or justify a brand new Golf GTI.
Screw it I wanted a new Golf and always wanted a Golf GTI since I can remember.
Asked dealer how long the wait was? He said orders not going in until august, so you'll be looking at November or December for delivery, Sh!t!!!
Anything in the system without too many extras? Nope!

Tried another dealer and they said there's one in the system with a build week 25!
5dr PP DSG, Tornado Red, Art Velours, 19"  I'll take it!
I should get it the week before I start my new job.

So from 20grand to 30+ in less than 10 days  :grin:

I went down the exact same path with the Polo GTI+! Though mine had already been ordered :(

I got my Non PP DSG on Tuesday. Unlike you though, I ordered the correct number of doors ;)

Some colours actually suit a 5dr better than the 3dr.

Well my last 3 cars have been red.
I wasn't choosy about the doors, it was only what was available in the shortest time. But it is practical as I have a family. Wife's Fiesta Zetec S is red with 3 doors lol

If I was specking the car from factory it would've gone something like this:
Iridium grey
Art velours
DCC
Keyless
19s

July can't come quick enough  :laugh:
