MK7.5 Recall
« on: 13 October 2017, 20:05 »
Booked my mk7.5 GTD in for 1st service today (18k miles in 4months ain't bad) and the service team advised it may be subject to a recall. They need to check if my engine code is affected. However, they advised the fix takes 8hrs!!!

Anyone know details behind this Recall??

Don’t know if this will give details, or if it’ll just confirm a car is subject to a recall, if it’s safety-related;

That's only the emissions recall

If you’re referring to the link I posted earlier, I don’t think it is just the emissions recall. The paragraph just above the box where you input your vehicle VIN states;

‘To find out whether your Volkswagen has an outstanding safety recall, you can enter either your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or registration details below’.

There’s a separate link on that page that takes you to the emissions issue.

Some further information:

RECALL CAMPAIGN 15G2

On some vehicles with diesel engine component-related deviations may have occurred during a forming process of the roller rocker fingers. Therefore the roller rocker fingers have to be replaced as a precaution.
