Couple of things worth pointing out though....

QPE kit uses the standard mk2 rod gearbox - not likely to handle that much power before going BANG!

The engine may fit on standard mounts but this is true ONLY of the engine they use - others need slightly different setup!

Dont forget that any standalone kit isnt as good as the real thing that has had millions spend on r&d etc  :wink:

I could write a how to when I remove my 20vt and plonk it into the new mk2 :D

not to hijack the thread, but the shell has got to the point there a trip to the bodyshop would cost me more than to buy another mk2. so I'll be moving the engine into the next mk2 (as well as a few other things).

I can take pics of everything then :)

here is the US site - http://www.funksoulkitty.org/ - its focused on a mk1 Scirocco but they are the same engine setup as a mk1 golf and the owner is a female who I have to say rocks - check out the details on the site. Good for her I say..

There are new pages on the site now which show all 20v steps in details - which are just amazing - even how to create the engine mounts... COOL AS!
