Cant remember exactly, but standard weight is around 11kg. Mine came back at just over 6kg iirc. You dont need to ask him for a specific weight, he will bring it down to what he considers a safe weight which from what Ive heard is usually between 5.5 & 6.5 kg.

That's good then, I'll put it on my list to do when the gearbox comes out :)

So, after loading up the exhaust manifold bolts up with WD40 for a couple of days, and managed to crack them all off apart from one! The remaining one you can only reach with a 12mm spanner, and out of my set, that is the one I have lost

On a good note, I managed to get the block prep'd and painted today :)

Prep'd and Kurust'd

Etch Primed

I then primed it but my phone had died.

Painted

Demasked :)

Tomorrow, if the weather is good, I hope to get the passenger side chassis leg and the gearbox cleaned up. Maybe even make a start on cleaning all the hoses and replacing the clips with stainless Jubilee Clips ready to be re attached :)

Don't fancy doing my engine bay after yours?

I need to do this to mine and I'm kinda dreading it. Might have to steal your ideal of painting the block while it's in the car tho!!

Sure :)

I would have liked to strip it right down and paint the whole block but that was going to far for my first engine strip and paint. The front and gearbox side is all you really see so I figured that would do for now.

UPDATE:

I sold my black VR leather interior!

Once the seats were all out the way and the money was in the bank it allowed me to crack on with these......

They have been waiting in the wings (my shed) for a few months until the VR seats shifted :)

So this happened....

All ready to go back in!

This also arrived today ;)

More to come soon. As long as the weather holds up lol!
