142 litre subwoofer box

Does any1 know how i can make a 5ft squared (142 litre) suwoofer ported box, have checked internet and had no luck finding specs or info,

Yeah have 2 15" kickers 1 in sealed box and want to put other in ported

5ft squared is still too big, that would be for like a 22"! even bigger maybe. 5ft LONG for a double 12" maybe.

Where did you get the 142 litres from?

Designing a ported sub box is something that takes time or money.  Do you know the frequency you want to tune it to?  Do you know the specs of the subs you want to use?  If you do, there are a few PC programs out there that will do the calculations for you.

If you're unsure of exactly what you want, you might be better off sticking to a sealed box.

actually 5 cubic feet isnt a lot at all, and it directly translates to roughly 142l . my 12" s are in two sealed 2 CuF boxes each, and they're still too small, reccommended 2.5 by manufacturer.

depends on what the sub datasheet states, but 5 CuF isnt a huge amount really

ahh see thats the thing, cu ft yeah but he said squared, me and the rest understand that as the wood measurements! in this case the driver side wood itself ( with a slope on the back?! ) would need to be just shy of 3 foot i reckon. and an investment into a router may not be a bad idea!( or a decent jig )
