No I wouldn't have thought so. If you are caught driving whilst its out of date though, that may be another matter.

Came of my bike which they have now written of, And want to put private reg from bike onto my golf. Dont think its going to be straight foward but what will i need to take to dvla as i dont want to go backwards and fowards with different info.  Thanks

I'm picking up a car tomorrow afternoon. I pay monthly for the car I'm trading in. Whats the craic with road tax when buying another car now?  Can I drive it home without tax?

Quick bit of praise for the DVLA. I sold my old car on Sunday 3rd April and completed the change of details on the DVLA website on Monday. Yesterday I received my tax refund cheque and today I got confirmation by post of change of the vehicle's keeper.

Very quick turn around. Does it ever take 4-6 weeks or is that just so they can surprise people?
