"navigation: function is not supported"  along with the Bluetooth not working aswell.

ive tried the hold down method for 40 seconds that didn't do it,

tried searching forum but I cant find anything similar to this

If it persists over night then it sounds like its gone pop.

Is it still in warranty? (3 years, 60k miles)

If so, hit the dealers.

'16 Plate is Mar-Aug so imagine the OP's warranty will have finished.

In 2016 the whole head unit packed up on my 2013 GTD, it was a month or two outside the warranty. VW Uk wanted £3500 for a replacement unit, I felt that this was completely unreasonable, as did my dealership. My argument was that it is reasonable to expect an item like an in car entertainment system to last longer than 3 years, it’s not in the same league as tyres, brakes etc. End result? New head unit, no charge. Good luck.

well ive just downloaded the latest map software onto a 32 gig sd card and it said wrong variant on the display
I don't think this is the correct software I need, The link to the download manager I used last time is now dead
this link I think had all the original software and maps. this was nowhere near 32 gig and fitted on my original vw nav sd card

although I did select the correct car and head unit from the site I think this is just map updates or maybe im getting confused

It's only map updates that are online and if you've got an original VW SD card then you don't have navigation pro and have picked the wrong variant to download.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

thanks for the info on the maps
spoke to an independent and he said the firmware is corrupt and will need reloading
got it booked in to vw for investigation.
we will see what they come up with

well sent car into vw mentioned the firmware update
they checked and said there was none.
they said its £60 to investigate so I agreed and drove off in a t cross courtesy car.
3 hours later they rang and said it was sorted, I asked what it was and they said there was a software update lol
in other words a firmware update.
