That looks brilliant. The car doesn't look bad either.

Thanks and thanks!

The new driveway looks good. I always thought the grass being lower than the edging sleepers looked like a pain to mow.

Is is permeable paving? Or does your stormwater make its way onto the road?

Nice Amarok by the way. Mines gone now, replaced with a Caravelle.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Thanks Simon.  It’s sandstone blocks with kiln dried sand jointing, so has some permeability.  A soak away was put in, but also the levels were brought up in certain areas so the driveway is sloped  and angled towards the road so water runs off into it and down the hill.

The Amarok now has a canopy and more useable side bars fitted.

How are you liking the Caravelle?

The Caravelle is ace. So much more useful than the Rok for what we (I) want now. The space and flexibility is brilliant and it's very un-van like to drive. It makes the Tig seem like a tiny city car.

Never mind all that, when are you having your detailing marquee installed?

Sounds a very good switch for you Simon.  I can imagine the Tig seems small by contrast.  You’re going bigger and bigger!

Ah my detailing marquee!  Alas that will have to wait a bit as still work being done out the front.

Time on my hands today, so having washed the car yesterday I intended to treat the grilles and window surrounds with Auto Finesse Dressle, and ended up doing the tyres (using Gyeon Tire (sic) Dressing), and giving the wheels a pre-winter coating of GTechniq C5.

Having become carried away and already done more than I intended, I then treated all of the rubber door seals, another pre-winter job that I'd planned, and while I had the car outside, and was grovelling about with the wheels and tyres, it seemed like a good opportunity.

The old "As long as..." syndrome.  I'm sure that you're familiar with it.

From my Honda S2000 days I have a tube of silicone grease especially for treating door seals.  It's really good stuff, called "Shin-Etsu" and it works just as well on VW rubber:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-FOR-HONDA-SHIN-ETSU-SILICONE-GREASE/172684079977?epid=1415924740&hash=item2834c5f369:g:Zy8AAOSwMjpcClkX

Not cheap, but you use it sparingly, and a tube will last for years.

And finally, as I had the kneeling mat out, I gave the tailpipe trims a spot of tlc with Solvol Autosol.

That's enough for now.

Looking as great as ever! But a word or two of caution, your cleaning area/drive is looking so good it is becoming a distraction from all the lovely glossiness
