Mmmmmmmmmmmm, yellow...

Wing trimmed and lined up

Bonnet isn't shut for the record.

Have failed with Xmas deadline but hopefully I'll get the rest of it done soon. Back to work now but have asked my mate if I can get into his workshop to get the car prepped for paint plus a few other odds and sods. So hopefully be moving from here to a new workshop to fit the pile of bits I have. Also ordered new wing bolts/ front clips (stainless steel) Brand spanky new Lambda sensor for the ABF (think I lost the original) and a large tub of copper grease. Doing it a bit @rse about face in the sense that I'll be getting it all painted before fitting the new engine, not ideal but that is the way is working out and when you are on a shoestring budget you really cannot stamp your feet when you don't get your own way..

So the busy weekend didn't quite go to plan. When does it ever?

Went up to Aberdeen in the wagon to help Alex_G60_fanatic to collect a few bits and bobs for his corrado. Unfortunately when we arrived some stupid bint walloped the wing mirror off the Octavia and naffed off :bang: Que Police, Camera, Action stylee take off we chased down the woman and, to his credit, Alex jumped out and stood in front of her car until she turned round. Anyway, in the process of getting that sorted out but it's taken up more of my time than I would have hoped.

Was up tonight to fit my new wing bolts...

Shiny...

Trial fitted my strut brace

But it catches the master cylinder resevoir/ bonnet. Anyone any suggestions? I'm starting to suspect that it is for an 8v.

And this arrived

Tis now all treated, cleaned up, hammerited and undersealed but forgot to take a pic

From this

Bit of this

With a little help from him

To this

After a partially successful trip to G60_fanatics today I got on with some grinding and welding.

Ground down the welds on the wing

Tidied up the welds on the sill

Built this to use with my new airbrush from my other half, still needs a rub down and paint but you get the idea

Got interior and carpet out

Got brought some tea and biscuits.... Happy days

Which gave me the strength to carry on and do this

It's a bit holy, but I'll sort that.

Then decided to get on with the sill

Not tacked yet but will be later tonight.

Also made these to stop my parcel shelf slipping about as the plastic clips are broken... Will do them again better but shall do for now.

Let the work experience lad have a go, they have to learn somehow :D

Primed up

Actually have got a bit further than this but I forgot my camera.
Got a wee bit more welding to do then I think that's me done with regard making the car solid.
On to body prep' ready for primer then a coat of OEM Oak Green and as many coats of laquer as I can get on there :)

So still needing to get sorted passenger footwell welding

Finish welding up the trim holes in the driver door.

Refit the door (just the once mind )

Body prep filler with rub down

Primer

Repaint/ laquer

Also need get this ARB swapped out, a job I am not looking forward to.
Think that'll be the majority of work I need to get it MOT'd.
prob's other stuff I've forgotten.

Rest will be cosmetics I reckon, fairly major cosmetics but structure is solid.
Been itching to get onto this bit. Can't wait.

And that is what has been taking up my time for the last wee while and haven't even got anywhere near fitting the new engine although collecting bits as I go.

Thought I would post it up here so people would able reply rather than in the build thread proper.

Cheers for looking
