Title: Newbie - Just got my Mk6 GTI
Post by: stozza on 12 December 2018, 14:23
Hey Guys!

Just got my Mk6 GTI over a week ago and loving it.

Already want to change the rear lights to the LED ones etc.

Is there a way to turn the side lights to be DRL?

Any way, here is a pic!

Welcome stozza. Glad you are enjoying the car. Looks in really good condition and the colour suits the Monza Shadow wheels.  Many things can be changed with VCDS. Not sure about the sidelights to DRL as not tried it but since the sidelights are not very bright on their own it may not make you very visible in summer?

Hi mate. I just got my GTi as well.

I'm after LED's at the rear too. You found anywhere which sells them?

Also how do you upload pictures on this site? I will then upload some pictures of mine :)

Welcome,
You can turn the sidelights on as DRL using VCDS but that results in the rear lights being on too. This is actually how the 2009-11 cars with xenon options left the factory before the xenons got the led DRL incorporated into them.
