200BHP is easily obtainable from a VR6 engine :wink:!! Plenty of torque too. The only downside is the fuel consumption.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

unfortunately i really dont like the mk3, Interior or exterior!

Mk4's are looking more and more tempting, looking at ?1200 insurance ont the 150bhp 1.8T, which i dont think is outrageous for a 20 year old (when i get it)

To put it into perspective i got a quote for a clio 182 and they wanted ?2300!

I've no doubt that the clio handles better and is a lot more nimble but:

1) You need to spend over ?4000 to get 212bhp at the wheels (TB conversion)

2) They dont look as good

3) Build quality is nowhere near as good

4) A turbo conversion costs upwards of ?6000 for about 270bhp, sure i could get a more powerful golf for that sort of money (IHI)!
