Iv said it before.  Excellent thread.
And for my compliments, can you please post how to change the throttle cable! I can't figure it out for the life of me

Much appreciated mate. It's quite easy but the bit inside the cabin has to be done blind. Disconnect the cable at the housing, push the rubber seal back through the bulkhead. Then look in the passenger foot well, find a flap in the underside of the dash (where the throttle pedal would be if it was LHD) reach up and un clip the cable.

that was a horrible job with my fat hands.

the cable stop grommit thing on the new cable is in exactly the same place as the old one!
its showing a idle of 3.5* and full throttle of 85.5* which seems within OE specs

do you think its worth me gringing the stop to get a max of 90*?

Definitely mate. Wedge the throttle pedal right down and see how much more you can open the throttle by hand in the engine bay, it's surprising

Not much of an update other than the exhaust is now banging on the rear beam due to the clamps slipping and it still sounds loud so I'm booking it in to get the new silencer fitted ASAP. Kinda lost interest in doing anything for the moment due to being ripped off for some bits so I'll see how I feel in the new year

Right I've finally sorted out some strut top caps for my poly bushes as the Polo caps were falling through the strut top

(borrowed this pic from Robin over on R32OC, hope he doesn't mind)

So I came up with this idea, Robin beat me to it though lol

Standard Golf cap with the cup part cut off leaving a big washer

Then the remaining lip ground flat and centre hole enlarged slightly

Polo and modified Golf cap mated together

Comparison of difference in diameter between the two caps

Rubber buffer added to both caps

Fitted on now and they work perfectly

I'll be fitting the engine bits over the new year; VR6 MAF, ECU, injectors, WMI nozzle so I'll report back with some pics once that's all done

I'm splitting something and have the ability to turn each feed off individually so I can log how efficient they are on their own and at the same time via VAG COM...
