ESP fault
« on: 11 February 2020, 22:30 »
just wondering if anyone else has had this issue
ive got an ESP fault light on now,it stays on and doesn't go off
its giving a fault code of p0122 which will not clear
the car seems to be running perfectly fine with no issues at all that im aware of other than the fault light being on
anyone else experienced this?

Searched the code? All seems to be throttle pedal position sensor related.

yeah seems so, I just googled it
it was in the garage being serviced yesterday, they checked the code out but couldn't give me a definitive answer to what it was.it was only booked in for service though so don't know how much time they spent on the fault code
Ive got to take it back in when the auto electrician is in
quick google search does seem to point to tps being the common problem

there is a technical bulletin from VW for this fault on the 2,0 tsi engine, which involves replacing the connector and pins/repair wires for the throttle body. The pins lose tension over time and cause excessive resistance which triggers the code. I've done this very repair many times and even did it on a scirocco earlier today. Parts are around £20 and takes roughly 30 minutes.
