Mine'll win the vote for being the dullest job: administrator working in a transport office.
Basically I waste most of my life trying to make sure so called 'professional' drivers carry the correct paperwork and abide by the laws some dozy EU beaurocrats dictate to keep VOSA happy. The rest of the time I spend hours compiling reports that nobody really looks at or understands.
The good points of my job are that nobody really understands most of what I do but they know it's legally necessary, so I get left well alone to pick my nose and surf the internet during quiet periods.
Senior Project Manager for a Mechanical Services Contractor in London. Specialising in the installation and maintenance of heating, plumbing and air conditioning systems.

You must have so much brain power by eating all that fish and it costs you nothing. I love fish. Can we be new friends? You give me fish and I'll look after you in other ways.
I've always wanted a fish-wife as a friend. I'll settle for a fish-husband. But I want your best cuts.
Money does not work due to our balmy economy, so we can barter. How about my sister's sister-in law? She's a good cook, a bad driver and deaf. Deal?
Oh, due have a sister for Exonian?

I work as a journalist for the UK's leading quarrying magazine.
I work as a journalist for the UK's leading quarrying magazine.
As in limestone and sand ?
Mr Polly - you're correct, we write about building materials from aggregates, sand and gravel to concrete and limestone. As well as quarries, we keep our readers up to date with the latest plant and equipment used in the industry, eg Caterpillar dumptrucks, Komatsu excavators, JCB machinery, asphalt plants, crushing and screening equipment, hydraulic breakers etc.
MAW, if you want a copy of the mag, I'll send you our latest issue cos it - excuse the pun - ROCKS!
On the roads if anyone has seen lorries bearing the following company names: Tarmac, CEMEX, Hanson, Lafarge, Aggregate Industries/Bardon - well, they're the main quarry operators in the UK, so they're pretty much responsible for supplying the materials used in our work buildings, your home, driveway etc.
There are quite a few quarrys by me in one of the sand quarrys the remains of a woolly mammoth were uncovered in 1986.It was dated to 14,000 years old previously they were thought to have died out 6,000 years ago in europe, its now housed in the natural history museum

Condover Quarry
I duly obliged
QuoteI duly obligedI hope you meant the hearing aid Asker bacause she sounds quite insatiable!
Great story, bet you've got loads more you could tell. I'm available to write your biography should you ever decide to share your stories with the world!
However, she was back the next day with her 94 year old husband and they both looked ill pleased. I asked her what was wrong, and without going into too many gory details, she told me that the new aids did not suit her way of life (lifestyle we call it nowadays). I was now quite curious and wished to know more. Well I certainly got TMI. She said that every time they were intimate in the Biblical sense, the hearing aids whistled and 'put her husband off his stroke!' Stupidly, 'how so,' I asked. I was now really fascinated by the unfolding saga. She explained to me in graphic detail the positions they adopted during their love making and how he liked to manipulate her. As this rather unseemly and incredible process was being performed the aids themselves fedback and it was very difficult for her husband to regulate them properly as they were behind her ear. I again stupidly suggested she not wear aids during their love making. This was not an option for either of them. They needed to hear the love making chants and grunts which made the whole thing more enjoyable. I went on to suggest alternative positions. She retorted angrily saying that for the last 70 years they had performed in this manner and no hearing aid was going to change that. She further went on to tell me that they had been intimate everyday of their marriage, except when he had to go to war. But as he was a good man, he made up for lost time when he got back. They had 9 children and 30 grandchildren.
