Nice 1 Ive just ordered goodyears thanks for your help. I'll try to get a decabel metre on it before and after.

If you do use a decibel meter, then ensure:
(1) It is properly calibrated.
(2) You get a dB SPL linear reading as well as the dBA weighted reading. The latter will give a lower value as the meter will be less sensitive to the lower frequencies.
(3) Try and conduct an octave or 1/3 octave band analysis. This will show you the offending frequencies.

Thanks but I'm probably not going to do any of that (but I see what your trying to tell us)

If the first reading is sh!t accuracy then the second will also so be sh!t but its a guide.
I don't believe in global warming, sorry.
How are speed bumps legal?
I dislike lorry drivers who block lanes in traffic.
All burglars must die slowly ASAP.

Lol, I would go out more if my tyres where quieter.

I have just replaced the front Bridgestone RE050A's on 18"s after 27112 miles with two new Micheln Pilot Sport 3s, will know soon enough if they are quieter than the Bridgestones after a bit of use.  They seem to corner better even in the wet, although the Bridgestones were basically shot so anything would seem better after them.  Still £284.80 ouch!
