It may be that second hand parts are less common for the 150's so when things go wrong they cost more than the others to put right?

I was really just looking to get views on reliability from those who've owned one.

I've had a 115 and that was completely trouble free engine wise.

engine wise Ive replaced a MAF, water temp sender and 2 intercooler hoses
its everything around the engine which has gone wrong :lipsrsealed:

I don't think the PD 150 has any more problems than any other models..as long as you keep then regularly serviced they should be fine.

i had a tdi 150 last year, bought it with 50k on it and ran it for about a year.no problems whatsoever.only had to fit new brakepads all round and change the oil.if they are driven sensibly and serviced they are fantastic even in standard form.i have heard of intercooler pipes blowing off but thats all.when i sold mine in february i got 6k for it and it was a 2004 plate which the guy travelled for,was totally standard and very clean.good luck finding one mate.

Loved my GT TDi 150, The only problem i every had was with the clutch as soon as i got it re-mapped it started to slip.

I dont drive like a nutter but noticed it most of the time when accelerating. I ended up selling the car as got quotes from £800-£1200 to replace.Bought a new mk6 gti

Mine did 60k miles before I got shot of it.
Owned it from new.
Towards the end of its life it started blowing hoses and just as I was about to get shot of it the camshaft literally snapped in two.
It lead a hard life though.
Wasn't remapped but it was quite a powerful one....http://www.golfgti.co.uk/viewpastevents.asp?eventID=42
