Stormforce car covers
« on: 14 November 2017, 21:50 »
Apologies if this has been done to death, please delete & direct me to thread!

Until I can ship my car from Ireland to UK, it won't be garaged & will be subject to the often rainy Irish weather. Having done some reading I think again it seems a personal thing - some say covers are good for protection others say they cause scratches to paintwork.

Is it better to let the car take the elements in the open. & just detail regularly, or is a cover going to give my car good protection from the elements? Any recommendations other than the above in the title?

Where is your car in Ireland? If your near Wexford I might be able to help you store it in a garage.

How about a gazebo with covers to the ground, clean, dry and no touching.

If you really, really, really want to protect it you need something like this:

That's what my friend uses on his Ferrari...

A cover outside will make a big mess of your paint as it moves around in the wind. Not maybe quite as bad if your car has been freshly washed under it and the cover is spotlessly clean. Best option is find some where under cover or else inspect it very regularly and wash very often.

Couldn't you just chuck a couple of the wife's bestest double cotton sheets on top first? That's what I'd do and then deny all knowledge.
