Who knows if you can darken the vw emblem in the front of the new facelift ?. I thought the radar was sitting there behind now. So you have to know what you do, so you do not influence it ..

Yes the radar sensor head is behind the badge - probably best left alone in my opinion....

Unless you absolutely know what you're doing, i'd leave well alone. Aesthetics is one thing, but surely safety is more important.

Exactly there, I do not want to be the first to test ....
Thought if you could put on sun film, now that the emblem is plain

I don't see how there would be a problem using a skin type overlay on it and even if there was you could just remove it.

i'd say it all depends on how much light it blocks and if it causes any distortion.. maybe vw will sell a darkened one. :)

Nooo...  I think it would make the car look cheap, especially since it is still the latest model out there but again I am always on the "stock look" camp.

Think a black Badgeskin would fit over the silver part without causing any issues?

Yes it might fit, but it might also affect sensitivity of the radar behind it.

It's also one more thing an insurer might try as an excuse not to pay out on a claim if they think you've carried out a modification that potentially compromises your vehicles safety equipment.

Is it really worth the risk for something so trivial as a different colour badge?
