I give away my old detailing products to friends and neighbours it keeps the count down. I only keep the products im currently using. It also helps to stop them thinking im crazy as they slowly get addicted too.
As for drying, I do get a few odd looks as I blow dry the cars.. :evil:

Ive never used automated car washes or any other type not because of youtube but because you just don't know whats in them.

 :grin: :grin: :grin:

I will try to blow dry my car next time!!. I haven´t used my air compress yet.. :sad: :grin:

what about using one of these?

I don't think the Karcher window cleaner / dryer would be good to use on a car's bodywork. It looks as if you have to drag it across the surface to be dried, making contact with the bodywork; if so, it would be a great scratch and swirl inducer, and it wouldn't fit all the contours of the bodywork.

I dry my car by rinsing with an open ended hose to 'sheet' most of the water off. I then blow dry with one of these;

it's really good for all those water traps like the grill, badges, door mirrors, door handles number plate surrounds, wheel bolt recesses etc. too.

Any small amount of water drops that are left on the bodywork and wheels, I finish off with fluffy drying towels.

For drying, I use this MetroVac Vac n Blo, which is a vacuum and dryer (separate chambers) and does both very well.  I upgraded to this from the Sidekick mentioned above by SRGTD, which is also great, but the Vac n Blo has a more powerful motor so greater drying power.

After washing and a jet wash rinse, I make the final rinse an open ended hose method previously recommended, to chase majority of water off with the vac n blo, and blot last few drops with WoWo drying towels which are ace. The drying stage is one of the most important for minimising swirls.

I can vouch for the Sidekick as a really good piece of kit ( I was the one who benifitted from Booth's upgrade :wink:) open ended hose followed by the side kick and a WoWo plush drying towel to mop up what's left makes the job a breeze even if you do look a total tool  :whistle:

Yep, when my car's covered in snow foam and when I'm using the Sidekick it usually provokes some predictable comments from the neighbours who are members of the single bucket and sponge club.
