golf mk4 wheel noise
« on: 27 June 2017, 21:04 »
Got a 1999 vw golf which I thought had a warped front disc so I've changed discs and pads all round all was ok for a week then had a jingle sound so took brakes off checked everything and all looked good then changed the anti roll bar bushes as they perished now I'm getting the jingle noise constantly and when its wet outside it makes a horrible loud noise when the wheels go round and when moving the steering wheel side to side whilst moving slowly any ideas what it could be?

Have to agree with you...check oil level first...sounds dry!

Update
the jingle sounds gone and the other noise has got alot quieter but is more noisy when pulling off and turning I run the car with out the wheel on and the disc looks warped but it's new discs and pads, my discs before sounded like they where warped whilst going round hence why I changed them surely these can't be warped now aswell?

A slight bit of vibration also just noticed when moving the steering wheel side to side the front passenger side brake pads and caliper all are moving yet all bolts etc are really tight and slider pins greased I'm sure this is the problem
