Why was it doing that? Why did you disable it? As far as I know, the Traction Control off should disable the front wheel slip detection system.

The only thing that is left is the stability control, which you normally only find an issue when driving hard on a track.

the start /stopping of the engine when you stop at a junction or traffic light does my nut in.

There should be a switch to over-ride the Stop/Start system.  You just need to remember to press it every time you start the car. 

Look for the switch with an "A" and a circular arrow.

Yep done & held for about 5 seconds that goes in the sport mode

Why do you want to turn it off in the first place and was it that gently you were pulling away from the junction? Plenty of black ice on our roads at the moment which no car can overcome.

Because I like to control the throttle not the car & Yes it was gently applying going up a hill, had I been in control of the throttle could limit the wheel spin my self.

I come from a MK3 Focus St that you could fully switch it off.

Had I come accross black ice I could have easily corrected it with my right foot.

P.S Why would you not want full control over your car?

I guessed you might have already known that, Just on the slimmest of slim chances you didn't ;-)

Is there not a VCDS/OBDeleven change that could be made? I'm sure there is something out there.
