Does anybody know of a decent quality cambelt kit, witch water pump with the metal impeller? (For my Gti 1.8T AUM)?

Cam belt kit with tensioner - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GATES-TIMING-CAM-BELT-KIT-FOR-VW-GOLF-1-8-PETROL-1997-2006-TENSIONER-POWERGRIP-/172317547362?fits=Car+Make%3AVW%7CModel%3AGolf%7CCars+Year%3A1999%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+IV%7CCars+Type%3A1.8+T&hash=item281eed1b62:g:MwkAAOSw9NdXvcqu

The water pump with metal impeller isn't any better than the plastic ones, the plastic has now been revised and no longer breaks up like the original pumps did

That's interesting and good to know - cheers Wazzer! Need to order a kit myself and am always keen to buy good quality parts in general but especially when it comes to cambelt kits and the like.

The only kit I found that came with a metal impeller water pump was the ECS Tuning one from PSI but it seemed overpriced and came with a thermostat & housing which I don't need (replaced recently). If this isn't a concern anymore then happy days!

Gates and Contitech are OEM belts, INA are OEM for tensioners and pulleys, so any kits with those in will be good.

God knows - I ordered the gates kit and fitted at the weekend. I've paid for it doing twice before by a garage and both times I've been assured they were using a metal impeller pump. Guess what, plastic impeller pump was fitted. Still it's done about 20k miles like that and I fitted a new plastic unit in return - it'll be right I'm sure.

I use gates kits on most things (unless a customer gets there own kit) and never had a problem with waterpumps supplied

I've used the Gates kits for years, on my Nissan Patrol, Jeep Cherokee and my Mk 4 TDI...always with the waterpump included and never had a problem.
