Watts; What happened with the first attempt that made it necessary to go back for a second attempt?

They didn't get time to start early enough on the first day to guarantee the car back for when I needed it. Just one of those things, since the car was fine to drive a delay didn't really matter. This time they have painted the bumper first so assuming the colour match is good (should be, they have applied enough to my car already ) then turnaround should be today but I have a plan B just in case in the shape of a silver Lupo! That's one way to make your GTI seem as quick as an R, drive a 1.0 Lupo for a day

Always liked the Lupo. Would’ve loved to have had a Lupo GTI!

Looks great Jim, especially the last shot but next time can you start cleaning your car earlier so that you can get some finished shots in good light

Got it back, a day later than expected but a great colour match and a better finish than new It's tempting to have the whole car flatted and polished but with daily driving it'd be damaged all too quickly

Glad you’re pleased with the repair. No need to get it polished by someone else; keep saving for that DA polishing machine and do it yourself.

No, not me, I might have my moments of madness but I would never do that! I was thinking the bodyshop. But as above, with the daily onslaught of stonechips and muck it wouldn't be worth it. I WILL (probably) get a DA sorted. I know which kit I want, but as I won't be doing much before the spring I'll hold off for now.

Wet sanding only needed for bad orange peel and a lot of work...!
