New Toy - Proton Satria GTi
« on: 29 January 2012, 16:12 »
Since the GTi was f**ked :( I had to go and get a new car, Found this fairly close, with low mileage 77,000, Full service history.

Not to everyone's taste but I like it.

Its a 2001 Satria GTi with all the upgrades, Recaro interior, Nice jap style exhaust.
Would have wanted another golf, but this was an offer to good to miss!

Nice.  There was something I always liked about these, think the bolt on arch kit looks kinda cool.  How is the Lotus tuned handling?

The handling is unbelievable, barley any body roll :)
I don't know if the bolts are a gimic or if they are really holding them on!

Mates one was troublesome, he bought it new and took it back loads until he sold it when the warranty ran out.
Handling was pretty good and had 140bhp as std, but was a complete let down on the cyborg he chopped in for it.
Still, fairly solid and fitted with a lancer engine they make a pretty good car for less than a couple of grand

Yeah, they are fairly bullet proof, plus an evo 3-4 turbo is a straight bolt on :D
The looks are very Marmite I think, but I like it! :D

Don't look bad for an out of the box GTI
I think most of my mates issues were around the instruments and internal electrics, did not have an engine or drive fault
