So the first year of my new Golf GTI facelift begins to approach.

I think I got one of the first customer cars, have had this since the middle of May ..

Have tried to sum up 2017 of this awesome car ..

Enjoy!

Who knows if you have a restriction opening on the tailgate ?. My facelifted car actually opens the tailgate higher than before.
Which means it takes in the garage door, and can give scratches I have noticed ..

Anyone handy here ?! :)

I'm not aware of any way to lessen the amount the tailgate opens. Could you not add some foam to where it catches your garage door? Or reverse in instead of drive in?

I use foam on the garage door, but when the car is dirty. The tailgate is so strong that it slide a little on the foam and makes scratches..

And no the garage is so tight so if i reverse i can´t get the stuff in the boot..

audi had a similar problem on the Q3  it was going so high some peo0le couldn’t reach it
so they  did a shorter  support strut. To limit the opening height , my dealer swapped them for free
Maybe  VW do a similar thing  .?????

I don’t open the tailgate in my garage for this reason - always wait until the car is out of the garage before putting things in or taking them out of the boot. Not always as convienient as it would be to do it in the garage, but IMO, better than scratching up the tailgate where it would touch the garage door.
