Ok sadly not too much to update on!

wanting to try sell some of the interior piece I have in the back of the car but I cant get rid so i may end up resorting to throwing alot of it away!

going to order the rollcage but need the space in the back of the car to put it in as soon as it comes so sort of stuck untill its all gone!  :undecided:

On a happier note I managed to grap a few bargains on ebay!

Picked a agu inlet manifold up for £24 delivered

Bought two LED strips which are going to be used for lighting the back of the car when the boot is open and i may use some for the front as the center dome light will be gone.
They are pretty good considering the massive 98p each i bought them for. nice and bright and also seem quite well made.

And also found these on the bay!

at a nice price of £80 for the pair
one is in as new conidtion and one just has a little dirt splatter on.
they are out of date but there is no damage to them with all the stitching in as new condition and they also came with 12 eye bolts so wont be having to purchase any

The cage and seats have been ordered

Bought a omp cage with cross bar in the main hoop and v in the roof and door bar reinforcers.
one of the main reasons is due to its bolt in feature. As It just seems more practice for me than having to get someone to weld up all the tubes in the car!

I also read prawns build thread an asn and I think it's a good option.

Also just won some motordrive Kevlar seats on eBay. The covers are a little tatty but at £160 they will do to get me started and upgrading can come at a later date!

Does the cage have harness bars in it?  If not you should get these added to it - using the rear seatbelt mounting points to secure the shoulder straps is a really bad idea!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Looks promising dude, what plans you got for the engine bar large port head? Might be worth running NA cams if you're going for a quick spooling turbo, hear the gains are beneficial :)

Engine will be having a rebuild with uprated rods and lp head and manifold possibly with a custom plenum.
3" maf with fuel pump and Injectors to suit
Not 100% decided on turbo yet! I know dan beachbuggy turbos is working on a new k04 hybrid so may go that way!
I've not really heard about n/a cams so may talk to niick at r-tech about it as e will be tuning it

First off the Motordrive seats arrived!

Happy to find that they weight a massive........6kgs each

and then this beauty arrived

cross brace in main hoop and roof and diagonal bar in the rear! also got door bars

Got a few jobs on tomorrow.
Removing the old seat rails with a drill and chisel and also going by Prawns advice and removing the thin crap on the inner sill (that is used to house the wires that go to the back of the car) so that the mounting points fr the cages feet have a nice and strong

Ok so small update.

Done a little prepping today for fitting the cage.
Removed and bagged up everything that was in the back if the car and its being stores on the back garden wrapped in plastic sheeting haha
Took ages as I wanted to keep everything from gettin wet and also weighed it all

Weights -

Driver airbag
Seatbelts
Rear speakers and a couple of small bits
-8kg

Rear door cards - 4kg

Tailgate  and handbrake centre  - 3.5kg

Headlining stuff (abc) and carpet sides - 4kg

Random plastics and rear seatbelts - 4.5kg

So all together another 24kg

I then had to nip out for a spot weld drill bit as I couldn't find mine

I then set about removing the thin crap on the inner sills where the feet of the cage are going to be welded...
Before...

After...

I then had to go to bed for an hours as I'm working nights
Gonna remove the headlining and try find somewhere to put it and then look at starting to fit the cage!
