Title: The Imperial Parts Hauler - MK3 Golf Diesel Wagon :)
Post by: DanChave on 02 April 2013, 18:09
Soooo, with moving unto my own unit soon, it was time to down size the work van and buy something a bit more appropriate for what I like and what I'm about! I initially wanted a Polo Caddy Van to drop on some coilies, but when Rich Sterry posted this up on FB, it ticked all the boxes for what I wanted, so I struck a deal and headed down to Camborne to pick it up :)

Pics from the FB post, when it was on banded G60's and how it was sold with the Cupra Alloys.

A few I took after driving it around for a few days.

Then I replaced the headlights with a set of GTI Dual chambers I had lying around and a two bar GTI grill!

the car came fitted with Blue and Black leather Recaro interior, I also bought Tom Richards OMP Rep steering wheel which I fitted as soon as I got home from picking her up :)

Short term plans are to change the wheels, give her a thorough clean and polish and recolour the interior.

Long term plans are Full Respray in original Alpine White, TDI engine conversion and as many optional extras and mod cons as I can fit in her :)

Comments welcome!

Looks good,  infact both sets of wheels seem to suit it particularly well.  What rims have you got lined up for it next then?

I'm buying my old Porsche Cups back that I had on my old Mk3, the darker red colour coded one with the Vento front end :) I sold them to a mate and made him promise to give me first refusal when he fancies a change :)

Few more things added!

Genuine OEM Wind Deflectors.

OEM 'Golf Wagon' Rear Bumper Trim!

Jap Spec Rear Number Plate Tub :)

Will get sprayed Satin  black to match the rest of the trim!

Lastly, these are fitted but I need a bit more work on the rear arches and a bit of negative camber to get them to stop scrubbing lol!

UPDATE!

Right, so first off I got the Cups on with the 195/45's, scrubbing like hell, but on there none the less lol!

(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0136_zps718716da.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0136_zps718716da.jpg.html)

That really wasn't working out well unless it was just me in the car, and seeing as it was bought to lug part etc, the tyres has to be sorted.

195/40 Falkens out the back on the 8j's.
(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0288_zpsaf516c5f.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0288_zpsaf516c5f.jpg.html)

165/45 Nankangs finest up front on the 7's lol

(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0286_zps473cb3e6.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0286_zps473cb3e6.jpg.html)

Then I got a bit crazy with the paint :/

(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0397_zps5290815f.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0397_zps5290815f.jpg.html)

Polished the lips, and slapped them on!

More little bits to come :)

Another update :)

I was bored of the OMP Rep steering wheel, so this happened!

(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0571_zps0bb04f95.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0571_zps0bb04f95.jpg.html)

(http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa457/DanChave/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0573_zpsfa5c560d.jpg) (http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/DanChave/media/Alpine%20White%20MK3%20Diesel%20Estate/DSC_0573_zpsfa5c560d.jpg.html)

I think the Porsche Horn Push ties the interior to the exterior nicely.

And a few other little interior changes.....

Plus a few pics taken with a half decent camera from a local show recently :)

Pretty much up to date now, although I still have loads I would like to get sorted for this!

The green wheels are just for a bit of fun until I decide what I will be doing with them next, personally I love them though :)

Engine wise its only a 1.9 SDI, but the MPG is great so I can't complain! Chances are, it will be getting the ABF out of my gti when Im done with it........
