engine problem
« on: 04 August 2011, 15:55 »
The engine in question is a mk3 2.0 8v gti , its got a bit of a starting problem and now i changed the coil pack to a new one it keeps missin when its cool and had to swap back to the original coil, new one just made things worse .

ive cleaned out the throttle body of the gunk , fairly new dizzy cap and rotor arm plugs and leads .

i just dont really get why a new coil has now caused the misfiring  and are there any other sensors i should try 1st ?

Is fuel getting to the injectors?

Checked the leads and plugs?

def getting fuel when the new coil was on you could smell the fuel getting pumped in and once its warmed up it drives fine although dont like starting does stop missing

plugs and leads all seem good all i can think if sparks not strong enough from the start and being what looks like the original dizzy could that warrent changing . it cranks over fine just getting it going
