Title: Mk V Blue Graphite to Mk7.5 Isaac Blue - 11 year gap
Post by: Zermatt on 03 February 2019, 12:40
Having a bit of a fleet rationalisation and was looking at replacing the Fiesta ST that we’ve had for the last 3 years with something a little bigger for the occasional longer drive.

In 2005-2007 I ran a Graphite Blue MkV whilst living in France for 2 years it was an epic car, 2 years ago when writing an EVO buying journey I listed it in my top 3 cars that I’d owned.

I’ve been considering a Club Sport or Club Sport S - but I have a Sunday and weekend car , so didn’t need something so specialised as the Daily . I’d even been toying with one of the last WRX Subaru’s.

Yesterday I dropped into my local VW Dealership and sat there was a 68 Plate Isaac Blue 3 Door PP GTI with Bresica wheels and Art Velour interior - just looked exactly what I was looking for.

So I took it out for a test drive and was reminded how good these cars are refined but characterful , well equipped and understated in 7.5 Guise.

I had promised myself a White or White-Silver 3 door but the Isaac Blue reminded me of the French Registered MkV in Blue Graphite that I drove across Spain in a day, drove from Chamonix to the Med then onwards to close to the Pyrenees.

So that was that back in a dark blue GTi

It’s been a long time coming but  looking forward to picking it up.
