Back in the day ... 2009 to be exact, I was superbly supported by Snoopy and Jimble all the way in my pursuit of a new Ḿąṝk 6 GTI.  From what I’ve read the next generation Golf will hit the streets this year with the GTI in 2020. But ... I waited nearly 10 months from dealer order to getting the keys, so I’m wondering if others have any indication when dealers are likely to get build slots (is that right?) for the new variant.

I remember Snoopy getting his MK6 from Milton Keynes (he despatched me to the local dealer to take photographic evidence of his car being prep’d).  My now local dealer is not forthcoming with any info - they fail to return phone calls and emails - so I’d rather rely again on you guys for a decent steer.

Any info appreciated, with apologies if this has already been broached.

You could try EVO1986 on here nearer the release date. He went way out his way to help me out a couple times in the past too.  I think he still works at a VW dealer and would be someone I would myself contact about a new car order.
