Looking for service schedule
« on: 16 December 2018, 18:56 »
Hi everyone.
Last week I bought 17 plate mk7.5 GTI, and on my test drive dealer showed me service schedule book, but after collection I noticed its missing and they cant find it now
So is there a chance that one of you can provide me with information regarding additional servicing like spark plugs, air filter, and so on, specifically at what mileage / time it all needs doing.
Thank you

Mk7.5's don't come with a service book... its all electronic records with VW.... unless the original owner asked for one (I did).

The service schedule probably is online somewhere, but might not be in an attempt to deny third parties the ability to carry out the work... certainly a third party cannot update the VW computer records.

Which I am sure is against EU regulations actually...

Problem is I can't find it anywhere online on VW website or my vw account.
All I want to know is what needs changing at specific time/mileage ( plugs , dsg oil, etc. )

Thanks for that
One more thing. Plan is to keep this car for min 5 years. Should I stick to flexible servicing or is it better to do it every 10000 miles. I do about 12k-13k a year. During the week its mixed drive to work 65 % city, rest A roads ( 25-35 miles a day-6500 a year )  Rest is is 50% city 50% motorway on weekends

I'd switch to time and distance (i.e. every year or approx 9500 miles which ever is sooner), as I've never liked the idea of the engine oil being in there for up to 20,000 miles or 2 years, especially as 65% of your journey is city.

That is what I was thinking as well. Upon checking it looks like my dealer set it on fixed from flexible just before I collected it last week. So by the looks of it I might just leave it as it is
